where innovation becomes tangible
We have a lot to be proud of in the IJmond region. A strong manufacturing industry, a unique energy infrastructure, and we are accustomed to innovating under challenging circumstances. At the same time, the energy transition is accelerating, the demand for new skills is growing, and technical talent is scarce. Standing still is not an option.
Therefore, we are working on the next, ambitious step: the development of the Transitie Campus IJmond (Working title). The place where industry, education and government come together, where innovation becomes tangible and where new talent wants to develop and stay.
3 days building the future
During an interactive 3-day event, we brought together stakeholders and young talent with one common goal: shaping a clear, widely supported future vision for the campus and the region.
In a programme focused on energy, co-creation, and pace, we worked towards an inspiring and recognisable future story. Not abstract plans, but a concrete narrative that provided direction, connected, and invited action. The 3-day event was more than a working session. It was an accelerator. A moment where ideas came together, perspectives reinforced each other, and ambitions became tangible.
Together, we laid the foundations for a future that was not only conceived but also collectively embraced.
The next step
The outcomes of the meetings will be further developed into concrete next steps. Together, we will continue to build a campus that connects talent development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and societal impact.
In the coming period, we will continue to actively involve stakeholders, so that the IJmond Transition Campus develops from the strength, knowledge, and vision of the region itself. An ambition like the IJmond Transition Campus can only be successful when it together with the region it is being developed.
