Techport works on two tracks: Sustainable Business and Human Capital. We accelerate sustainability and invest in the people and skills needed for it. From field labs to HR programs and from matchmaking to training: our offering is broad, practical and always focused on impact.
From our locations, labs, and tools, we facilitate experiments and projects that contribute to our goal. Meanwhile, we inspire companies, professionals, and young people with stories, events, and practical examples that show what is possible. And we’re not just doing this today — we’re continuously working on the skills and talents that will make a difference tomorrow.

Inspiring
New ideas emerge when you share them. We organize knowledge sessions, inspiration sessions, and company visits where innovation and sustainability become tangible. We take entrepreneurs on study trips and trade shows, introduce young people to technology through initiatives like Spacebuzz, and tell stories that inspire action.
Accelerate
Good ideas deserve speed. With programs like the Green Incubator, pilots and fieldlab use cases, we help entrepreneurs get their plans off the ground faster. Through Smart Tech Vouchers, strategic HR advice and LLO programs, we make the transition from idea to execution smaller and more feasible.
Connecting
The greatest breakthroughs are achieved through collaboration. We bring companies, schools, government and students together through matchmaking sessions, the Techport Talent Pool, the Techniektuin and initiatives such as Innovation Tribes and Tech Heroes. This creates collaborations that yield faster results.
Facilitating
No innovation without a solid foundation. We provide the tools, labs, and facilities to turn ideas into reality: the Techport Innovation Centre, the Smart Sensor Lab, and the Fieldlab Edge AI for Smart Industry. In addition, we support them with subsidies, monitoring, and accountability.
How Techport is organized
Techport is a public-private partnership with a core team of permanent and freelance specialists, supplemented by project managers and support staff. Our supporting partners — the municipality of Velsen, the province of North Holland, the ROC Nova College, Tata Steel and Crown of Gelder — form the Steering Group and provide the basic funding.
In 2023, we presented our Multiannual Strategy with a clear course: moving forward together, towards a green and future-proof industry.
