The Techport Innovation Centre, a breeding ground for innovation, knowledge sessions and workshops. In the summer of 2024, Techport moved from Velsen-Noord to a unique space at the Nova College in IJmuiden. After a complete makeover, Techport proudly welcomed partners and relations yesterday at the New Year's 'Empowering Innovation' event.

The afternoon programme was dominated by valuable knowledge sessions on various topics such as successfully developing innovations within the Green Incubator grant programme, the power of Tiny Machine Learning, recruiting young people, smart energy storage solutions and successful scaling up. Participants were made to think and interact with each other about the challenges they face, but also the opportunities they see.

Techport director Patrick Swart briefly looked back on the successes of 2024 during the presentation, but even more he looked ahead to an innovative 2025. "Our ambition 'together towards the Netherlands' first green industrial zone' sounds big and may be impossible on an individual level. However, by working together, we can strengthen each other; we just need to find each other in this. The Techport Innovation Centre has become a place where entrepreneurs, schools, government and partners can work together to make IJmond more sustainable. We therefore invite every entrepreneur with a request for help in the field of energy transition and sustainability to drop by. Only together can we realise this ambition."
