On 11 January 2024, the second Hackathon Smart Maintenance took place at the Nova Campus Beverwijk. One hundred upper secondary school students and first-year mbo engineering students work on smart solutions to real-life maintenance issues during this and other Smart Maintenance Hackathons. How do we shorten queues at supermarket can drop-off points? How can you extend the lifetime of wind turbines from 25 to 40 years? What are the solutions for constant lip balm production?
The hackatons are a collaboration between Techport schools Vellesan College, SKILLS vmbo and Jac. P. Thijsse College, subject teachers from FIX Maakonderwijs, Techport companies Facta and Tata Steel Netherlands, MyTec Companies Foundation, the company Equans Netherlands , Amsterdam IJmuiden Offshore Ports (AYOP), and technology teachers from the Nova College MyTec course.
