TES Industrials has been established at the Tata Steel site for a long time and works with a team of technical professionals. The organisation wishes to continue to grow, but faced challenges in attracting and retaining talent.

The HR issue

At the start of the project, there was one primary question: where do our areas for improvement lie regarding the inflow and retention of employees?

The bottlenecks were not immediately apparent. Therefore, it was important to first gain insight into what was happening within the organisation – including in the areas of culture, development and onboarding of employees, as well as improving the personal management of employees.

What did they do within the trajectory?

Through employee interviews, the main themes within the organisation were identified. This revealed a clear picture: communication and feedback were crucial areas of focus.

Based on that, the following are included:

  • training sessions organised focusing on communication and feedback culture
  • sessions held with teams and managers
  • re-designed the onboarding process
  • an onboarding guide developed for new employees

What did the trajectory yield?

The process gave TES Industrials greater insight into where the real bottlenecks lay and how they could be concretely addressed. With focused attention on communication, feedback and onboarding, a stronger foundation has been laid for attracting and retaining employees.

An important step towards a stronger organisational culture and a better start for new employees!
