We help our shareholders - 44 municipalities and six water boards from North Holland, South Holland, Flevoland and Friesland - achieve their renewable energy and recycling targets. For a clean energy supply, we obtain sustainable energy (heat, electricity and green gas) from sun, wind, geothermal heat and waste. In addition, we are committed to reusing more and more materials. We do this by encouraging and helping residents to separate their waste properly so that we can collect and process it separately. In this way, valuable raw materials are preserved for new products.
Why Techport?
Stefan Schilp, practical coordinator of the "training and development" department at HVC and responsible for the placement of trainees at MBO level 4 for the Energy from Waste business unit in Alkmaar and Dordrecht: "We are seeking cooperation with Techport in various areas because we consider the importance of working together in the region important, being able to learn from each other. We have also seen for several years that getting well-trained staff for technical subjects is becoming increasingly scarce. Also on the front end, we see that the influx of young people choosing to study engineering has been declining in recent years. That is why we think it is important that various initiatives are undertaken to address this problem, Techport is very active in this and that is why this collaboration. Ultimately, we hope that there will be more intake into technical courses and that the courses will connect well with the business community."
