House of Skills was a programme of Amsterdam Economic Board. The programme was completed in April 2023. Many initiatives have since been adopted by partners. House of Skills worked towards a more skills-oriented labour market.
The labour market is changing rapidly. Employers are struggling to find suitable staff. The type of work is also changing. Recruitment based on diplomas and CVs does not provide sufficient matching. And social and economic goals for energy transition, healthcare and housing construction are stalled due to lack of people.
How do we get movement on that?
House of Skills has designed skills programmes, enabling more people to find their way in the labour market from skills and employers to realise sustainable employability from skills. Read more on our homepage about the continuation of our activities.
The skills programmes contribute to.
- making knowledge available on understanding skills.
- validation of skills.
- matching supply and demand based on skills in skills programmes.
The basis for this is a knowledge infrastructure, through which we develop, apply, transfer and monitor skills knowledge.
To achieve this, we have developed a variety of training courses and tools for employers, jobseekers and career professionals.
