Hands-on education for renewable energy
Within the RIF project, Nova College is the first in the Netherlands to expand technical mbo courses with a full curriculum around sustainable energy technology. Think hydrogen, solar and wind energy, energy carriers and energy storage.
Techport ensures that these educational modules are not only theoretically strong, but above all aligned with what companies need now, so that students and workers are trained with up-to-date knowledge of green energy technology that is directly applicable in IJmond. By actively involving companies in the content, education stays in tune with practice.
the role of techport
Techport plays a key role in accelerating sustainable energy technology in IJmond. We help design and test new BBL and LLO programmes for incumbents, support skill updates for industry and help companies sharpen their knowledge and innovation needs.
From the Techport Innovation Centre and our field labs, we provide the place where students, teachers and companies come together for innovation projects, hackathons and practical research.
Become Hybrid teacher: the bridge between classroom and practice
An important part of Sustainable Energies IJmond is the use of hybrid teachers: professionals from the business community who bring their knowledge and experience into the classroom. They give guest lectures, supervise practical assignments and show students what sustainable energy technology looks like in practice. In this way, the shortage of technical teachers is partly alleviated and education remains current in a rapidly changing sector.
The energy transition is in full swing and practical knowledge is indispensable. Do you work in engineering and want to share your experience with the professionals of tomorrow? As a hybrid teacher, you will inspire young people and lateral entrants and bring up-to-date knowledge about hydrogen, solar and wind energy, smart maintenance or energy storage directly into education.
You can get started through guest lectures, practical assignments or company visits. With your application, you become part of the guest teacher pool. We agree deployment and conditions with the programme manager, depending on available teaching times.
