The Magnet at Tata Steel Netherlands helps young professionals at Tata Steel develop leadership and knowledge. The Magnet was founded in 1989 as the platform for young employees to meet each other, learn more about the company and have some influence on the company's direction. The Magnet organises inspiring events for employees under the age of 37 from Tata Steel, as well as from other companies. The Magnet Symposium 2024 took place on 28 June with the theme 'Embrace the Undiscovered'. It was day full of 'out of the box' thinking, sharing knowledge, learning from each other and connecting.

Techport provided two workshops at this symposium: Hydrogen Implementation, on the technical and economic feasibility of hydrogen for the energy transition in this region. And Innovation Accelleration, on pioneering innovations, technologies and new business models in a fast-changing industrial region. What can large manufacturing companies learn from fast, agile and successful startups?

The workshops were thoroughly enjoyed by Wouter van Gerven of Techport company Bilfinger Tebodin, a consultancy and engineering firm, and André Knol of Techport Green Incubator (a Just Transition Fund project) and founder of Innomics.
To be continued.
