Techport thinks anyone who works or wants to work in engineering is a hero! Why? Because technicians do important work to keep the maintenance and manufacturing industry in the IJmond region running. The demand for technical staff is high and will only increase over the next ten years. Also, many jobseekers are quite willing to switch to another industry, but (sometimes) do not know how to do this because they do not have the right education and/or work experience.
The Techheroes pilot seeks to fill this gap and make the threshold for lateral entrants as low as possible. Interest in engineering is the most important thing. Certain skills can be learned on the job or through training. KUUK, Blok System Supply, Hoogewerf Engineering and Facta will investigate which work suits a candidate together with the candidates.
