With the Strategic HR project, Techport facilitates strategic HR services for SMEs. Thanks to a contribution from the Just Transition Fund, this project can now start. The main aim of Strategic HR is to improve inflow, retention of current employees and to recruit new employees in creative ways. This is badly needed, because the energy transition in North Holland alone will require over 12,000 extra employees until 2030. The current tight labour market and in particular the shortage of technically skilled staff calls for employers to actively engage with their HR policy.

We want to achieve this goal by deploying HR advisers who will work with the companies on strategy. The first HR adviser started at the beginning of June: Joaquin Urbina. He has already had introductory talks with a number of companies. The second meeting consists of an intake that looks at where the company needs help and advice. Joaquin: "What I have found so far is that most issues are about retaining existing employees and recruiting new employees in creative ways.. Furthermore, I see that organisations want to further professionalise or future-proof their HR departments, but are not sure how to go about it. With this project, we can help with that in a very targeted and tailor-made way."

The ultimate goal of Strategic HR is to help 75 companies with their HR issues in three years. Joaquin: "By joining this project, you get a lot of expertise at your disposal, plus an HR plan. We think many SME entrepreneurs can really take a step forward with this."
