Hybrid teacher

Hybrid teachers. Ever heard of them? There are over 50,000 hybrid teachers in the Netherlands who combine their teaching job with another job. Think of teachers who are public servants, entrepreneurs, educational innovators or teacher trainers in addition to their teaching jobs. Techport has received a grant from the national Talent for Technology Platform for a pilot on hybrid teachers in the IJmond region.

A hybrid teacher at Techport focuses on:

• Providing quality engineering education consistent with practice
• Optimally guiding students in practice
• Good connection between education and businesses within Techport.

Techport has developed an abbreviated learning pathway for the purpose of obtaining teaching certification for hybrid teachers, knowledge sharing through peer consultation (vmbo-mbo-hbo) and building guest lectures into curriculum.
