Lateral entrants into engineering, please! But how?

Technical professionals are indispensable for the manufacturing and maintenance companies in IJmond. But the number of MBO students in engineering is declining and the aging population is increasing, resulting in a significant shortage of technical professionals. The labor shortage requires a different view of the labor market. By looking differently at the labor market and the recognition of skills, lateral entrants can be the solution to your shortage.

Welcoming lateral entrants, however, requires something of your organization both in recruitment, matching, onboarding and in training and mentoring. In setting up these processes we, as Techport, can help you free of charge through support from the municipality of Beverwijk.

We want to talk to you about where your problem lies and how we can help you. We do this through the Technical Top Employer scan in which we map out what efforts your company is making to facilitate sustainable inflow and lateral inflow and where your bottlenecks lie.

Why participate.

  1. A scan is used to map out where you as a company stand in terms of recruiting and coaching technical professionals. What do you do well and what more can you learn?
  2. Based on the results of the scan, we get to work together! Do you need insight into the required skills, support in matching or organizing guidance for lateral entrants? We can help you with that, for example by linking you to an expert in this area.
  3. Learning by doing: discuss challenges with other companies and arrive at solutions under the guidance of Techport.

In short: we can help you set up your organization for lateral entry in the short term. Sign up before Jan. 16 through Robbin Bosch(robbin@projectcrossover.nl)
