Manufacturing industry submits plans for innovative education
Together with local companies, schools and governments, Techport has submitted an application for the Regional Investment Fund mbo (RIF) to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. A program is being prepared to ensure that technical education is well aligned with rapidly changing technologies, with a focus on smart maintenance.
The ROC Nova College is the lead agency for the application. Other parties involved are MyTec companies foundation, Tata Steel, Facta, Microtechnology, GWOC, Hogeschool van Amsterdam, Hogeschool Inholland, Technisch College Velsen, Kennemer College, municipality of Velsen and Province of Noord-Holland.The Regional Investment Fund mbo (RIF) stimulates cooperation between schools, the public sector and the business community. The goal is to prepare MBO students even better for the current and future labor market by having them work with state-of-the-art techniques and methods already during their studies.
