Entrepreneurs discuss energy transition in IJmond while sailing

On October 18, Techport, in cooperation with Rabobank, organized an entrepreneurs' breakfast on the tour boat Queen Emma through the ports of IJmuiden. On board were 47 entrepreneurs who received a brief update on the energy transition in and around the port area from eight speakers. The updates came among others from Zeehaven IJmuiden, Tata Steel IJmuiden, BIZ Havengebied IJmuiden, GreenBiz and of course from Rabobank and Techport itself.

The aim was to strengthen the mutual network and to inform each other about the innovative solutions that can be taken up as individual companies (or together on a business park). Furthermore, concrete tools were provided for companies to do their own scan (already mandatory for large companies), such as the Future Fit Risk Scan of the Rabobank and the energy scan offered by GeenBiz. It became clear that the participants want to work together to create the world's first green industrial zone.

On the same day, TenneT sounded the alarm about grid congestion in the region. In North Holland, TenneT's high-voltage grid has reached the limits of its capacity to supply electricity to large-scale consumers. All the more reason to work together on solutions.

The meeting was made possible in part by a contribution from the JTF fund.
