Meet Patrick Swart, new director of Techport
As of June 17, Patrick Swart is the new director of Techport. He is looking forward to get to know Techport and all its affiliated companies, schools and other organizations better and to work together with all partners on the first green industrial zone of the Netherlands. Patrick: "I already knew Techport, but now I get to really immerse myself in the world of innovation, education, sustainability and technology in this special IJmond region."
Experience in innovation and organizational development
Before joining Techport, Patrick has done several things. Among other things, he managed a consulting firm, several media companies and (educational) publishing companies. From different roles, he managed change processes, set up innovation programs and went through digital transitions. In addition, he was one of the coaches within the GO!-NH program.
Patrick: "A good idea, new concept or innovation proves itself in the execution, where ambitious goals match a realistic picture of what the organization(s) and its people are capable of. We want to innovate and renew together in a future-proof and application-oriented way, but #HOEDAN? As far as I am concerned, always with the people and the team as the starting point and the bundling of competencies and expertise needed to realize the desired development. From Techport we try to give substance to this collective ambition by filling in the preconditions for success and facilitating and supporting its realization. We do so - and we must - in close cooperation and coalition with business, government and educational institutions."
About Patrick personally
Patrick lives with his wife Esther and their two sons (one has already flown out) in De Rijp on the Eilandspolder. He swims very regularly in the Baafje in Heiloo (or the Hoornse Vaart when it's winter) and loves to cook elaborate meals for family or friends. Besides browsing for new music on Spotify, he likes to visit a concert or show. You can always wake him up for ice cream.

An interview about Patrick's first 100 days at Techport will follow in the September newsletter.
