Fieldlab Green Energy
Industry and port in IJmond are going through a transition in the coming years to meet the future demands of sustainability and circularity. For both manufacturing and offshore companies, this means new markets with different requirements for technology, products and services.
Fieldlab Green Industry
In this project, companies cooperate in the supply chain for renewable energy production through wave energy. The asset owner in this project is Symphony Wave Power BV.
This project involves setting up a supply chain in the IJmond region. It involves the following activities:
- Further development and testing of the system
- Production of the asset
- Installation in the North Sea
- Daily operation and monitoring of the systems
- Maintenance of the systems
- Embedding in microgrids
- Integration with hydrogen production and storage
Wanted are companies (1 per activity) in and connected to IJmond that have expertise and knowledge in the above areas. The coordinator is Stichting Techniek Campus Techport.
Objective
Developing a new integral supply chain for sustainable energy systems, where manufacturing and offshore industry in IJmond work together. A first application (B2B) is the sustainability of offshore activities, the number of required systems contributing to the Dutch electricity market is estimated at 5000 in the next 15 years. Besides the North Sea, there is a much larger market for wave energy in Europe and worldwide.
Project size
The lead time is 5 years (2023-2027), total costs € 2-4 mln. A commitment of approximately 0.5-1.0 FTE is requested from each party, of which 50% of the costs will be paid from the JTF resources and the other 50% requires an own contribution, for example from the idle hours. In addition, depreciation costs on equipment and in-kind contributions are also eligible.
