Techport Innovation Centre Green Incubator project receives grant from IJmond Just Transition Fund
On September 20, 2023 Gerik ten Berge (Techport) received the symbolic check from Alderman Jeroen Verwoort (Municipality of Velsen) for the Just Transition Fund grant for the Techport Innovation Centre (TPIC) Green Incubator project.
The TPIC Green Incubator focuses on establishing a one-stop-shop for knowledge building and innovative ideas for energy transition in the manufacturing and maintenance industry. Learning communities will also be established on specific themes: Make Green (cleaner circular manufacturing), Energize Green (more energy efficient manufacturing and maintenance) and Move Green (cleaner transportation).
The activities in project TPIC Green Incubator are designed to connect business, education and government. Educational institutions are part of the innovation teams and learning communities working on innovation projects. With master classes, research assignments and (graduation) internships, the educational institutions involved make a direct contribution to the successful implementation of innovations.
In addition, the technologies picked up in the innovation projects are direct input for new curriculum at VO, MBO and HBO. The training courses, workshops and master classes set up from the one-stop shop and learning communities are accessible to existing employees (in-service training), to students and pupils (initial training) and to other interested parties (possibly lateral entrants, retraining)
The TPIC Green Incubator aims to support or involve 100 companies, 100 employees and 200 students (mbo/hbo) in the implementation of green innovations in the manufacturing and maintenance industry in 4 years. The result of TPIC Green Incubator is the implementation of 25 green innovations.
