Techport works with a number of regional parties to provide strong, attractive and innovative technology education that prepares students well for training and employment in the region.

Fix Make Education

Cultuurhuis Heemskerk, Centrum voor de Kunsten Beverwijk and Techport have joined forces with Fix Make Education with the aim of introducing make education to elementary school in the IJmond region. Make Education is learning (by making), connects creativity with technology and is entirely devoted to inquiry-based and design-based learning.

By investigating for yourself how something is made or could be made, you learn to solve problems, better understand the world and influence it. In this way 'making' leads to new knowledge, insights and interest in the endless possibilities of technology.

Strong Engineering Education

Within the IJmond/South-Kennemerland technical region of Strong Technical Education, primary education, secondary education, vocational secondary education (MBO) and the business community work closely and actively together to (continue to) realize a high-quality and comprehensive range of technical VMBO. This technical region includes the municipalities Castricum, Heemskerk, Beverwijk, Velsen and Haarlem.

Techkwadraat

By introducing children to technology from an early age, they playfully discover the world behind it and broaden their horizons. Because technology is so much more than laptops and smartphones. From welding constructions, designing designer furniture, building with circular materials to prosthetics for sick people in the hospital: the world of technology leaves children amazed.

Together with schools, companies and other organizations in the region, we are joining forces with the Techkwadraat program to create a learning environment where education and practice come together. Whether it is engineering, technology, ICT, (natural) sciences and practical skills: we want to provide a broad orientation in all these directions.
