RIF Smart Maintenance mbo
Digitalization in the manufacturing and maintenance industry, as well as in (off)shore wind, is in full swing. This means that the required knowledge and skills for maintenance engineers has changed. Maintenance is increasingly being performed 'smartly'. The IJmond region is therefore the first in the Netherlands to enrich technical training with Smart Maintenance ('smart maintenance').
The companies and schools working together within Techport have jointly drawn up a plan to revamp the courses. For the implementation of this plan, the ROC Nova College will receive almost 1.6 million euros from the Regional Investment Fund mbo 2019-2022 of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. In addition, the Nova College will receive a €250,000 subsidy from the province of North Holland for this project. The participating companies are investing themselves by providing hours, knowledge and expertise.
Part of the plan is Smart Maintenance MBO. This is a broadening and deepening of the Process Engineering, MyTec, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Installation Engineering and General Operational Engineering courses at levels 3 and 4. Within these courses, students will soon be able to develop into Smart Maintenance experts.
More information about the Smart Maintenance courses at Nova College can be found here.
A continuing education program Smart Maintenance for maintenance technicians has been developed and the Associate Degree (shortened college) Smart Maintenance has started as of September 2023. All of these programs take advantage of the Fieldlab Smart Maintenance Techport.
