On Tuesday, September 10, 30 participants left from the IJmond<\/a> to Eindhoven<\/a> to visit Brainport Industries<\/a>. Ren\u00e9e Versteegde-Derks<\/a> gave a tour of the campus building and Saartje Jansen showed us how the campus-based Summa College operates. Afterwards, managing director John Blankendaal<\/a> on the history, the way of working together and the challenging future of Brainport Industries and the campus. Astrid van Deelen<\/a> from Brainport Development<\/a> gave a clear presentation on how Brainport deals with trainings<\/a>, engineering promotion<\/a> and the cramped labour market<\/a>. We allowed ourselves to be guided by Mark van Lieshout<\/a> talk about the Experience Centre, which houses various test rigs and demos. An inspiring example for the development of het <\/a>Techport Innovation Centre. Edward Voncken<\/a>, CEO of KMWE<\/a>, then, together with colleagues, showed via a tour of the impressive company how KMWE is implementing 'Manufacturing the Future'. We ended the afternoon with a drink that lasted too short. After all, there is much more knowledge and inspiration to be exchanged. So: to be continued! For now, we thank Brainport Industries and KMWE for their hospitality, and the participants for their enthusiasm and commitment.
