Recently, Techport welcomed a group of students from UCRS in the Danish region of Skjern to the Techport Innovation Centre. The visit was organised by 1 for All Education and accompanied by members of the Techport staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the visit, the Techport staff guided the students through the story of Techport and the North Sea Canal region: a region where industry, education, and government collaborate on innovation, talent development, and the energy transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What made the visit particularly interesting was the comparison between the two regions. Skjern is known for its strong manufacturing industry, entrepreneurship, and down-to-earth mentality. Although the North Sea Canal Area has a different scale and dynamic \u2013 with heavy industry, ports, and international logistics \u2013 the shared challenges and ambitions are striking: the energy transition, attracting and training technical talent, and the collaboration between education and business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More than a study programme<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n For many of the students, this was a journey full of special firsts. They stepped onto an aeroplane for the first time and travelled abroad without their parents for the first time. They arrived full of curiosity and enthusiasm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That personal aspect is precisely what makes international exchanges so valuable. Students not only learn from each other's regions and sectors, but they also grow as individuals: by seeking out new environments, experiencing other cultures, and pushing boundaries \u2013 literally and figuratively. \u201cIt\u2019s amazing to see how quickly students grow when they step out of their comfort zone \u2013 not just in terms of their subject matter, but also personally.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The visit was made possible by Marcel Toussaint.
