HVC

We help our shareholders - 44 municipalities and 6 water boards from North Holland, South Holland, Flevoland and Friesland - achieve their renewable energy and recycling goals. For a clean energy supply, we obtain sustainable energy (heat, electricity and green gas) from the sun, wind, geothermal heat and waste. In addition, we are committed to reusing more and more materials. We do this by encouraging and helping residents to properly separate their waste so that we can collect and process it separately. In this way, valuable raw materials are preserved for new products.

Why Techport?

Stefan Schilp, practical coordinator of the "training and development" department at the HVC and responsible for the placement of trainees at MBO level 4 for the Energy from Waste business unit in Alkmaar and Dordrecht: "We are looking for cooperation with Techport in various areas because we consider the importance of working together in the region important, being able to learn from each other. We have also seen for a number of years that getting well-trained personnel for technical subjects is becoming increasingly scarce. We also see on the front end that the influx of young people choosing to study engineering has been declining in recent years. Therefore, we think it is important that various initiatives are undertaken to address this problem, Techport is very active in this and therefore this collaboration. We ultimately hope that there will be more influx into technical courses and that the courses will connect well with the business community."
